Mourning in White in Csököly

Csököly is located near Zselics, in Inner-Somogy. This is where the poet Csokonay Vitéz Mihály wrote his Dorottya, a comic epic. The village has a unique folk tradition: mourning in white. At funerals the coffin is followed by women dressed up in white, not black. The two churches are also worth visiting. More beautiful churches mellowed by age can be found, also, in the neighboring villages.
Csököly, Gige, Kiskorpád and Rinyakovácsi are really worth a visit in strawberry season, because fine strawberries are grown in large amounts in the gardens and in the fields.

You are kindly invited to the strawberry picking.
