The Wild Flower Path

Roads bind us. The Wild Flower Path starting from Kaposvár, in front of the County Hall leads through Kaposszerdahely, Szenna, Patca and Zselickisfalud to Szilvásszentmárton, and binds civilization with nature, because it leads to the Zselic Landscape Protection Area. For centuries, for the people in Zselic, forests and wood meant the source of earning a living. Therefore, the carvings in the old oak by the path demonstrate people's respect; they bind our past with the present and send a word to the future. The carvings picturing the protected wild flowers of Zselic bind millennia, since they were erected in honor of the millennium. If the wanderer admiring Horváth-Béres János's works steps a little aside from the path, s/he can see the marsh iris and the other valuable protected flowers not only in the carvings but also in real life.
