Eating and drinking

Visitors to Zselic will experience good hospitality in all accommodations and restaurants. Dishes are prepared from ingredients grown locally, mostly by biological farming.


You can try delicious game dishes, goulash, letcho, "sizzling" roast, traditional oven pastry with sour cream and garlic, fine strudel and a lot of other tasty dishes.


Delicious fruits and grapes are grown on the tender slopes of Zselic. Tempting wines await visitors in the barrels of the small cellars. We would like to call your attention to honey, another local speciality in Zselic. This large untouched area is a real Paradise for bees. What these hardworking insects collect from lindens and flowers, is really worth tasting.

Besides the excellent restaurants listed in this booklet, the following ones are also recommended: Akácfa Restaurant in Kadarkút, Horváth Inn, Márka Restaurant in Kaposmérő, Petörke Csárda in Bárdudvarnok, Denna Restaurant in Szenna, Kerékkötő Csárda in Bőszénfa. Remember that you can only discover a region completely after tasting local specialities and drinking local wines.
